Tooth Extraction
While we always lead from a preventive care-first approach and try to preserve the natural teeth as much as possible, there are some situations where tooth extraction is the only course of action.
Tooth extraction can be a daunting thought for many patients, but we don’t take it lightly here at Mere Dentistry and only ever recommend it when completely necessary. Luckily, thanks to our caring and compassionate approach, alongside cutting-edge techniques, tooth extraction is nothing to be worried about and will always be carried out in complete comfort for the patient.
Why do I need a tooth extraction?
- Advanced decay that has left the tooth or teeth irreparably damaged.
- Impacted wisdom teeth.
- Infected wisdom teeth.
- Infection due to a weakened immune system.
- Overcrowding of the mouth.
- A loose tooth that can’t be repaired or restored.
How long does the treatment take?
Most bridges can be placed over two appointments, with a wait of a few weeks in between while your personal
bridge/prosthetic is made for you.
What is the treatment process like?
- At your first appointment we’ll prepare the adjacent anchor teeth or tooth.
- We’ll take a digital scan of the mouth.
- The dental laboratory will make your personal bridge using these scans.
- Your personal bridge will be fitted for you here by our expert team.
- You’ll leave the practice with a brand-new, happy, healthy smile.
