Invisalign

With Invisalign and Mere Dentistry, there’s a clear and easy way to straighten out a crooked, overlapping, or misaligned smile.

Invisalign is the subtle, versatile, smile-transforming way to straighten out a smile – without anyone knowing! Invisalign have been clear aligner pioneers, paving the way for patients to find a straighter smile in a more subtle, discreet, and flexible fashion since the 1990s. Banishing the need for uncomfortable and obtrusive metal braces, Invisalign presents patients with a clear route to a straighter smile in just a few months.

  • Digital scans will be taken of your mouth here at the practice.
  • The experts at Invisalign will use this to build your treatment timeline and your personal aligners.
  • Once they’re ready for you, you’ll start wearing your aligners for 22 hours a day.
  • You’ll swap your aligners out every 1-2 weeks to get your teeth moving in the right direction.
  • You’ll be able to debut your brand new, straighter smile!.

How long does the treatment take?

The exact timeline will depend on the individual patient and the position of the teeth at the start of the treatment, but most patients wear their Invisalign for 6-18 months. Patients with only mild alignment issues to treat can be looking at a straighter smile in as little as 3-6 months.

Can I take out my aligners?

Yes! One of the most popular aspects of the Invisalign experience, is its flexibility. You can take out your aligners to eat and brush your teeth, so you don’t have to worry about your oral care or stopping eating certain favourite foods. You can even remove them for a special occasion or important meeting, but we recommend doing this as little as possible as it can affect the length of your overall treatment time.

Is it painful?

Invisalign should never be painful. You might experience some initial discomfort, but the aligners are made bespoke for you, and are made from Invisalign’s patented SmartTrack material which is particularly flexible and comfortable.

Will I have to wear a retainer after the treatment?

We always recommend wearing a retainer once your Invisalign treatment is completed, otherwise you may find that all your hard work has been undone as your teeth start to revert to their original positions.
